Ishani Patel

Virginia Commonwealth University, Bachelor of Arts
George Mason University, Masters in Education

Ms. Patel was born in New Jersey but has lived and grew up right in Loudoun County. She loves spending time with family, friends, traveling, anything to do history and being outside. Some of her favorite activities include hiking, exploring new cities, going to museums and cooking. Ms. Patel did not always want to be teacher growing up. It was not until a trip to India, where Ms. Patel visited the school her grandfather was a principal. After visiting a 5th grade classroom and sitting in on lesson did Ms. Patel realize she wanted to come a teacher. Even though these students did not have updated textbook or any technology the excitement they had for learning was contiguous. Each student was so eager to learn and were jumping out of their seats to answer a questions. The excitement and love they had learning was something Ms. Patel had never. These students wanted to soak up every ounce of knowledge they could.. She strives to bring that same joy, excitement, and love learning to each of her students.   This will be Ms. Patel's first year teaching 6th grade at Franklin Sherman Elementary. Before, teaching at Franklin Sherman Ms. Patel taught 6th grade at Mayfield Intermidate school in Manassas City, VA. .
