Teacher Biographies

Lindsay Glotzer

University of Mary Washington, Bachelor of Arts in English and Elementary Education
American University, Master of Education in Early Childhood Education

Ms. Glotzer is beginning her 3rd year teaching Kindergarten at Franklin Sherman and in FCPS. Prior to this, she taught in DCPS for 2 years as a Kindergarten teacher and Resource Teacher. Ms. Glotzer has also worked in the Education Office at NOAA providing outreach opportunities for teachers and nonprofit organizations.  Her favorite thing to do in the world is travel! Some of her favorite places she has visited are Ireland, Costa Rica, and Disney World!

Rebecca (Beckie) Michalski

Radford University, Bachelor of Science with concentration in science

Ms. Michalski is a 24 year FCPS veteran. She began her career at Longfellow Middle School teaching 8th grade Physical Science. After 4 years she transferred to Centre Ridge Elementary where she taught 6th grade and 4th grade. Looking for a change of pace she joined Franklin Sherman in 2006 as the AM kindergarten teacher. After 4 years, FCPS went to full day and she stayed on to teach more new students. She has had many families pass through her classroom and she loves each one!

Ms. Michalski has 2 daughters, the older one attended FCPS through graduation and is now a professional dog groomer in Ft. Lauderdale. The younger one is a senior this year and looking forward to graduating in June.  You can often find her and her daughters out on the softball field enjoying the weather and a friendly game.

Shannon Wright

Pennsylvania State University, Bachelor of Science in Education with minor in Special Education

Ms. Wright moved to McLean this past summer. It is her first year at Franklin Sherman Elementary school. She is so excited to be a part of the wonderful community! In the past, Miss Wright has had many experiences working with students of all ages. During the 2016-2017 school year, she was selected to be in Pennsylvania State University’s Professional Development School where she was able to teach second grade students. Last summer, she had the pleasure of working as a Paraprofessional for the Delaware Autism Program with the Christina Area School District in Newark, Delaware and loved every minute of it! Miss Wright is passionate about the benefits of a strong classroom community and is excited to foster learning experiences that strengthen bonds within the classroom to create a warm learning environment.  In her spare time, Ms. Wright enjoys being with her family and playing the ukulele. She is passionate about using music in the classroom to reach students.
