Kathrn Lohr

University of Mary Washington, Bachelor of Science in Sociology

This is Ms. Lohr's third year teaching and third year at Franklin Sherman. She is the oldest of three, and has two younger brothers. Ms. Lohr was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia where she graduated from Robinson Secondary School. Ms. Lohr loves to read and loves to watch sports, particularly Washington teams. In her spare time, Ms. Lohr manages an adult softball team. 

Ms. Lohr values kindness, teamwork, and communication. 

Nicole Nersten

Pennsylvania State University, Bachelor of Science in Education
Major: Childhood and Early Adolescent Education (PreK-4), Minor: Human Development and Family Studies

Miss Nersten is from York, Pennsylvania and began her teaching career with Fairfax County Public Schools first as a Kindergarten teacher at Franklin Sherman. This is her first year as a 4th grade teacher. Prior to teaching, she had a variety of experiences working with children of all ages. She has worked with children in infant/toddler rooms in daycares, then with all other grade levels through 6th grade. She was also a teaching assistant in college, working closely with an environmental science professor and other teaching assistants. Throughout her experiences working with students, she has remained a learner herself, seeking out professional development opportunities on a regular basis.
 
Miss Nersten is one of three sisters, with one in high school and one working and living in Philadelphia. On the weekends you will find her at Trader Joe’s, running, or trying a new recipe.
