Teacher Biographies

Charli Hitesman

University of Oregon and holds a BA in Elementary Education

This is Ms. Hitesman's twelfth year of teaching and her first year at Franklin Sherman. She has taught 7th/8th Grade Math, 4th Grade, 1st Grade, and Kindergarten in Oregon, Hawaii, Okinawa, and North Carolina. She is married to a Marine and has 3 children: Joelle 18, Joshua 15, and Rosie 10. She is from Honolulu, Hawaii and loves all things Hawaiian!

Katie Lauricella

Catholic University, Bachelor of Arts in History
Marymount University, Masters in Elementary Education

Ms. Lauricella is thrilled to be in her third year teaching 5th grade at Franklin Sherman Elementary School. Prior to coming to Franklin Sherman, she worked at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History for three years. Other fun teaching experiences she has had include teaching cooking at Sidwell Summer and working at the International Spy Museum's Spy Camp. An interesting fact about Ms. Lauricella is that she spent eight weeks teaching in New Zealand while in graduate school.

Alanna Steinmeyer

George Mason University: Masters in Elementary Education

Ms. Steinmeyer is a 5th grade teacher and Level IV lead teacher. This is her third year at Franklin Sherman and third year teaching. In her free time Ms. Steinmeyer enjoys getting outside and being active. She has been snowboarding since she was three years old! She is originally from Long Island and also spent a great deal of time in Vermont growing up.
